Hey there! I’m Joonas, the President of Fun. In addition to this amusing position, I also do billable work at Vincit. I have a long technical background as a developer, but nowadays I work daily with Agile development as a Scrum Master.
In 2017, I was involved in founding the FunSquad in Jyväskylä to bring some fun to the local work community. FunSquad is a group formed by our employees that aims to make Vincit a more fun workplace. At the beginning of 2022, FunSquad expanded to other cities, covering Vincit's offices in Finland. During 2023, squads were also established in Sweden and Poland, making the initiative international.
Each Vincit office in Europe has its own FunSquad, led by a local Minister of Fun. These groups plan, coordinate, and organize a variety of events throughout the calendar year. Some are gatherings at the office, some are family-friendly outings in nature, and others are wilder evening get-togethers. Every FunSquad is different because they’re local community-based organizations.
At the end of 2023, I was also involved in founding FunSquad's sibling team, SportSquad. SportSquad’s mission? To get you off your chair, start some healthy habits, keep them going, and maybe even discover your secret talent for something new!
SportSquad is made up of a crew of energetic folks in charge of keeping our local community moving, from casual stretching sessions to epic nationwide sports tournaments. Whether you’re a pro athlete or just someone who likes to walk to the fridge, these activities are low-pressure and open to everyone.
SportSquad huddles up once a month to plan the next big (or small) adventure and works hand-in-hand with FunSquad to keep the good vibes rolling. A lot of our events are so popular that they get employees traveling between cities to participate in events organized by other squads.
