In the past, cars arriving at a car wash location were recognized by scanning an RFID sticker in the window. The process required a member registration process that was inconvenient for both customers and personnel.

We helped to implement an agile, solution-oriented approach to solve Tommy’s business needs. This included the automated license plate reader and customer onboarding process. We also developed the franchise chains management system, mobile app, and point-of-sale terminal software. The chain management system made it possible to implement and distribute the business intelligence tool, which was developed by Tommy’s Express.
With the new system in place, customer registration is based on automated license plate recognition that uses cameras and a neural network – which means no RFID stickers are needed for cars. With the information gathered by the license plate recognition, onboarding new customers is quick and easy and takes less than a minute. Customers can control their subscription through the easy-to-use mobile app on either iOS or Android and can also sign up via the app anytime and anywhere.
Franchise owners can handle important information like maintenance and employee work shifts through the system as well – and get valuable data about their operation. If needed, the point-of-sale system allows users to purchase a car wash without registering.
