Ebru is an SAP expert who has been working in this field for over 20 years. “From the early days, I’ve worked with a diverse range of industries covering all aspects of SAP implementation for financial controlling, including product costing, profitability analysis, business consultancy, and more,” she explains. In 2016, she brought this wide range of SAP skills to Finland, first working for Castor IT, then Bilot, and finally Vincit.
Around the time Ebru moved to Finland, SAP was making the switch to S/4HANA – first on-premise, and then gradually to their cloud-based ERP solution. SAP S/4HANA provides businesses with a modern and flexible solution that can drive efficiency, agility, and innovation. “I was lucky enough to be on board with S/4HANA from the early stages. The changes introduced to the financial data structures by S/4HANA not only fix the long-endured pitfalls of redundancy and reconciliation – they also provide a solid basis for future innovations in all finance topics. On top of that, SAP brought a cloud mindset to ERP, which has been a tremendous change in this field, providing modular, integrated, and ready-to-run solutions. This is an exciting time to be an SAP consultant.”
Constantly learning
Nothing in the field of IT stands still, and SAP is no exception. “One of the things I love about this job is that I’m always learning. This area is evolving rapidly a lot so there is always something new going on,” says Ebru. “And as an expert, I need to understand what’s going on – from the big picture down to the detail level of individual solutions.”
In addition to continual learning, people working at Vincit take a strong role in developing their own careers, and Ebru is no exception. “I take on many roles depending on the project, but I still love doing hands-on work with customers where I can solve problems.”
A supportive work environment
Vincit thrives because of the people who work here, and the company encourages people to find the way of working that suits them best. “One of the things I really like here is how Vincit handles the people aspect. There is huge support for diversity of ideas and ways of working – people are really respected here.”
When it comes to people thinking of joining the team, Ebru has this to say. “My advice is to be open from the start and share your strengths as well as the areas you’re willing to improve. You’ll soon find your place here in a team of accomplished colleagues who will depend on your unique talents and support you with theirs. At Vincit, there’s open encouragement to take initiative and improve your expertise even more.”
